Kaili, Guizhou Province, China

Project Name: Kaili BRT Preliminary Design

Duration
August 2019 to June 2021
Client
China Academy of Transportation Sciences (CATS) for City Transportation Department
Project Features
Kaili, with a population of around 600,000 in the administrative area, has major urban expansions under way in a linear pattern to the east and west. The large majority of public transport demand is concentrated in the central area, but emerging congestion in the central area and the need to serve the new urban expansion areas and the high cost and limited coverage of rail-based options have led the city government to consider BRT as a mass transit approach to meeting the city’s growing transit needs.
Far East Mobility Role
CATS are working on transportation master planning in Kaili, with Far East Mobility having the lead role in providing a preliminary BRT plan and design.
