Project Features
With ADB technical guidance Yanji has established a Project Management Office under the City, and is developing a multi-year, multi-faceted low carbon city development project with key components being a Bus Rapid Transit system, sponge city applications, parking road safety plans and measures, NMT and universal design master planning, a Low Carbon Action Plan, and Transit-Oriented Development planning.
Far East Mobility Role
Far East Mobility won the CS4 consulting package after an international tender which covers all aspects of the project mentioned above, providing technical input and support on project planning, design, implementation and operation as well as analysis of the project impacts. During 2021 and 2022 Far East Mobility has provided key inputs on the BRT operational planning (the BRT station parameters were already defined prior to the task commencement), intersections and road designs along the BRT corridor, BRT route and frequency plans, and technical supervision during the construction and preparation for operation in September 2022. The NMT Master Plan and Parking Management Plan are in data collection, consultation and preparatory phases as of August 2022, with the Low Carbon Action Plan to be largely completed during 2023. Far East Mobility is also working on training and capacity building, next-generation ITS recommendations and road safety improvement planning and design in Yanji.

Project Features
The ADB and City Government are aiming to establish Yanji as a low carbon urban development model and is drawing from technical experts in many areas of urban planning and design. A planned BRT corridor is the main aspect of the project which also includes many other low carbon development components.
Far East Mobility Role
Far East Mobility carried out urban transport related capacity building, surveys and data collection, and input to preliminary design and aspects of the BRT and NMT planning, gaining close familiarity with the city and the proposed BRT corridor and low-carbon, climate-resilient measures being developed.
